SIEBER first came to California the first part of 1932, to the best of her kriowledge and belief. He went back to Europe and returned to America in 1933 on aj‘ quota number. At no time between 193 and 1939 was he out of the country: long enourk to have kept him from becoming a citizen except that he lost his caitizen~ Ship time credit because in November, 1937, when the family was preparing fo a return from a visit to France, England, arid Suitzerland, and had sailings® KIL ‘ booked, MARIA, the daughter, became il Moe and the shipping companies would not permit her to have passage on any boat. Lr. and irs. SISBZR canceled their sailing date twice, waiting and hoping that the daughter would-be able to travel, but this was not the case and as Paramount was demanding her immediate return to meet a picture engagement, and as there was no one to leave the child with in France, the only thing to do was for the fo father to remain with her. The SIEBEKS considered having hrs. SIEBER'S mother ee come from Berlin, but since she could not leave Germany: ithout giving up ~ rights to her property that was deemed inadvisable, and Lrs. SIEBER did not want her daughter to go to Germany as neither she nor hr. SIEBER had gone back to their native land since they had taken out quota numbers in America, so there was no choice but to have Lr. SIBBERK stay in France to take care of . their daughter. Both hr. and Lrs. SIESER and LARIA would stay until. ~ January of 1939, that the child could then ba brought with safety to America, _ which he did mersly and entirely because of the child's illness. as a matter of fact, when Lr.
