Certainly...
BERMAN:
The information about whether the report will talk about other agencies‘ use of the
Justice Department's Investigative Data Warchouse for data mining purposes.
CAPRONI:
Again, I will make sure that the department understands your position.
BERMAN:
Thank you.

Will the gentleman yield to me?
BERMAN:
I'd be happy to.

To ask a question.
Ms. Caproni, one question just came to my mind, and that is. part of this testimony
today has talked about how agents in the field and special agents in charge in the field
didn't get the proper legal advice from, I presume, people that report to you, that they
were not challenged as to the legal sufficiency of the NSLs or the exigent letters.
Is that correct?
CAPRONI:
Let me -- I think that comment was relative to the lawyers in the field who actually do
not report to me.
(UNKNOWN)
Who do they report to?
CAPRONI:
They report to the special agents in charge.
They report to their field office head. That's one of the things that Mr. Fine has
suggested that we look at, and that is actively under discussion at the bureau right now,
whether that reporting structure should change.
(UNKNOWN)
So they don't report to you at all?
CAPRONI:
No, sir, they do not.
