everyone is admiring the courage of STEVE NELSON in his
three year fight. He stated that NELSON symbolizes the
struggle needed today in the fight of all humanity. He
declared that fighting for NELSON, we Pight for all that |
is best in this land of ours, He spoke of the fight of the
Negro people in the United States, of the fight of the
African and Colonial people for peace, freedom and the
dignity of man. He said that "The Soviet Union is flenting
for the peace of the world and for the fresdom and dignity
of ell men", He seid in Russian, "Shiroka Moya Roding
Beskoneichie Steppi" (Wide is my motherland, Endless are
the stepa). "L can hear the people of Stalingrad, named sfter
the great STALIN, and of all over the world aay this struggis
will mot end until total victery its won. The great STALIN
has left a monumental heritage to the people of the Soviet
Union and the people all over the world in the struggle for
peace, and especially peaceful coexistence’. ROBESON praised
the Civil Rights Congress, which organized this meeting under
the leadership of WILLIAN PATTERSON.
