Ralph Bellamy, a reactionary group had taken over the organization,
Eelanda continued that Ossie Davis had introduced
the resolution and despite the oppesitian of Equity President
Bellamy, the resolution was carried by approximately 1106
votes to 75. She commented that Ossie Davis refers to
his action relative to this resolution as his birthday
contribution to Paul Robeson,
a advised that on March 30, 1958, Paul
Robeson, Jr., subject's son, stated that Ossie Davis had
informed Eslanda Robeson of the action of actors Equity
in passing a resolution aupporting the right of Paul Robeson
to a limited passport even though Raiph Bellamy oppoaed
it. Kobeson, Jr, stated that this means that actors Equity
will go on record with an official atatement supporting
Robeson's right to a limited passport to travel to England
for a Shakespearean role ents summer,
