_doo-i6T4 Director, FBI DATE: April 17, 1945 op FROM : SAC, New York SUBJECT: RICHAPD KATHEANIEL WRIGHT ~ SECURITY MATTER = C (Bureau File 100-15746k ) Reference is made to New York letter to the Bureau dated February 26, 1945 in the captioned matter wherein it was pointed out that in view of the subject's public break with the Commmist Party, he is no longer being carried as a key figure by the New York Field Office, but that a Security Index card on him was being maintained by this office. This statement was made in error in view of the fact that although the New York Office recommended to the Bureau by letter dated June 28, 19 that a Security Index Card be prepared on the subject, no authorization. was actually received by the ‘Bureau to prepare such a card. Therefore, no Security Ind2x card is being maintained in the New York Office on the subject wmless contrary advice is received from the Bureau.
