MPD NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: Public Information Office FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 202-727-4383 October 4, 2002 HOMICIDE 7700 GEORGIA AVENUE, N.W. *UPDATE, 10/4/02 @ 10:10 pm* At approximately 9:15 last night, Thursday, October 3, 2002, 72-year-old Pascal Charlot. of the 4400 block of 9th Street, N.W., was walking in the 7700 block of Georgia Avenue, N.W. While standing on the corner of Georgia Avenue and Kalmia Road, N.W. hc was Shotin the chest. Mr. Charlot was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit and pronounced dead at 9:56 p.m. The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 202/727-9099. The department currently offers a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that Ieads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.. ### K04~500L *UPDATE: The Bureau of AIcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms' examination of the bullet fragments removed from Mr. Charlot's body indicates that the caliber and. charaeteristics of the round are consistent with the ammo used in the Montgomery County, Maryland sniper murders. It is eyident that Mr. Charlot's murder is relatcd to the cases in Montgomery County. Therefore, members of the D.C.
