Lieutenant] ____d Intelligence Squad,
Columbus, Ohio, Police Department, interviewed on the
grounds of the Lausche Building, Ohio State Fairgrounds,
Columbus, Ohio, furnished the following information:
; Lieutenant| _|statea that he was in the
procession of vehicles approaching the Lausche Building
from Port Columbus International Airport, in which pro-j
cession, a limousine was carrying the Vice-President of
the United States, SPIRO’. AGNEW, He stated as the pro~
cession approached the north gate of the Lausche Building,
crossing Twentieth Avenue, he observed a number of demon—
strators rushing from the south end of the Lausche Building be”
grounds to the north end of_the Lausche Building shouting DIC
and screaming obscenities, [__—siistated that he did
hot observe any missiles being thrown at the procession,
but after the procession halted on the west side of the
Lausche Building,he was told that an object had struck
the rear window of the Vice-President's vehicle shatterin
the upper right hand corner glass of the vehicle,
stated that it was not known at this time who was respon-
sible for this incident, but heard reports that demonstra-
tors who were protesting the Vietnam War on the parking
lot in front of the Lausche Building threw missiles at
. the Vice~Ppresident's car as it entered the fairgrounds,
Lieutenant[__— J advised that he would immediately
contact the Columbus Office of the FBI if any information
is developed as to who may be responsible for damaging the
Vice-president's vehicle.
