Conyers told Levison that he would be interested in Levison's offer. He noted that his schedule has prevented him and Levison getting together and that he has not been giving the committee the attention it deserves. He also noted that they are holding a meeting at 9:00 AM on Thursday, June 29, at the Washington Hilton, the day after the Poor People's march. Levison brought up the fact that Conyers had mentioned to him that he might be interested in having a young man working in his office, white or black.
