However, a review of the files of this Bureau reveals the following information which appears to relate to the subject of your inquiry, In 1961 Stokely Carmichae) was arrested for trespassing by the Jackson, Mississippi, Police Department during the "Freedom-Ride" type demonstrations, He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to four months in jail, which was suspended, and fined $200. (157-387-1135) . Carmichael was also arrested that same year by the Baltimore, Maryland, Police Department for trespassing during an attempt to integrate Baltimore, Maryland, restaurants with several other individuals. The disposition of this charge is not known. (157-6-3-3-162) ar The March 17, 1962, issue of “The Washington Post," Tbe Page 2, contained an article captioned "Three Evicted at ae R, Kennedy Office After Sit~In to Push U. 8.
