Dear Mr. Levi:
I have been employed as a Special Agent of the
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) since September 30,
1963.
On June 13, 1976, I was advised by William L.
Gardner, Chief, Criminal Section, Civil Rights Division,
United States Department of Justice (USDJ), Washington, D.C.,
that I was considered a potential subject in an investigation
being concucted by his Division concerning surreptitious
entries made without tudicial appreval «hich could be viola-
tions of Sections 241, 242, and 2236 of Witle 18, United States
Code.
I hereby request that the USDJ provide a departmental
attorney to reoresent me in the above matter. If you decide
that you are unable to provide me with such services, I request
that you grant me authority to hire counsel of my choice
at Government expense.
