RR: ARROTT HOFMAN HCMPMAN stated that the FLL hed recently arrested -him in New York City subsequent to his escape from Weshington D.C, following his arrest there during the May Day Demonstration. HOFFMAN stated he had been smuggled out of jail in a garbage can. HOPLMAN Curther stated in a facetious manner that he did not know Cither RENNIE DAVIS or JOHN FROINES and had not conspired with them regarding the May Day Demonstration in Washington, D.C. ANITA HOFFMAN stated that there would be enother aczonstration in Washington, D,C, some time this summer, and she hoped that more people would appear this time. DOUGLAS, the moderator, then asked HOFFMAN how many tines he had been arrested. HOFFMAN responded that he thought thet he hed been arrested 44 times and had been involved in 20 trials. HOFFMAN then advised that Kent State University (KSU) is currently the most intriguing campus in the nation. He stated that there are at leest 200 police agents on campus in addition to other infiltretors and informants. According to HOPTAAN, the four etudents killed at KSU in May, 1970, were depicted by the U.S, Government as being clean cut dupes, when —* actually they were "scruffy hipvies" who were involved in redical rn activities on carpus. DOUGLAS then commented that the knovn — -~ - campus radicals at KSU who had appeared on several “talk" shows oe prior to the shootings, were not present on campus when the —~J four students were shot. HOFFMAN answered with "baloney". = , DOUGLAS tnen saic he could furnish names of such radicals who were a on campus to HOFIMAN off the air. HOFFMAN did not further comzent on the subject, however, the program at this point temporarily went off the air. DOUGLAS then asked EOFFMAN if revolution was his most important consideration, HOFFMAN responded that “love is tne most important thing. Fortunately, we do not have to distinguish between love end revolution”. DOUGLAS then asked HOFFMAN, "given the present state of the country, why do we need a revolution". HOFFMAN stated that the youth movement now is trying to form a New Nation, also known as the Woodstock Nation, with its avowed purpose being the establi shment of new values.
