Hoffman ajso said that there will be demonstraticns at the national conventions, especially the Republican convention. He said there are currently severa: organizers in San Diego planning demonstrations. Hoffman, who said he has more than 30 speeches scn 1eduled in tne next Trew months, noted a change in the mood of American campuses. "They are more cynical, more disillusioned now," he said, "this is behind a lot of the interest in mysticism and the heroin problem," "He also discussed narcotics and mentioned thai he had recommended the shaving of heroin pusher's heads as a form of vigilante action. However, he predicted that legalization of marijuana would come in five to ten years. "The current laws have made outlaws of 26,000,000 people, according to the Nixon commission's report," he said, referring to the recent estimate of marijuana use by the Presidential Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse. Hoffman reiterated a recent statement that the Mar y Sol pop festival in Puerto Rico was an insult to the island. He claimed that Federal agents had visited his house several times looking for fugitives and had kept him under surveillance.
