REMARKS OF SENATOR TYDINGS (D - MARYLAND)
MAY 15, 1969 ON WRC | :
The Director noted that he would like to obtain a copy
of an interview with Senator Tydings which appeared on Channel 4,
May 15, 1969. A check with NBC here in Washington revealed that
no interview with Senator Tydings appeared on the Huntley - Brinkley
show; however, such an interview did appear on WRC News at 7:00 p.m.
immediately following Huntley ~ Brinkley. This program wasmTV tape
and arrangements were made by my office to monitor the interview with
Senator Tydings and the transcript is attached in response to the
Director's request. It will be noted that this interview starts abruptly
without a “lead-in.'' WRC officials said their TV tape starts with
Senator Tydings' remarks as reflected in the attached transcript and
that they do not have a tape or record of what preceded Senator Tydings'
attached statement,
For the Director's information.
