As a result of his cooperation and testimony, the 10-year sentence previously given Seal in Florida was reduced to probation. However, as pert of his plea agreement per New Orleans case, ne Was sentenced to serve six months in a Baton Rouge halfway house, the one to whic returning on February 1 1986 when he was killed. 63 b7D Immediately after the shooting, sheriff's deputies ; alerted FBI, Baton Rouge, who thereafter directed Agents in New Orleans to cover the New Orleans airport. Through aggressive investigation at the airport, the Agents were able to identify possible suspects and develop leads which led to the arrest of six persons, five of whom are believed to be directly involved with the murder of Seal.
