FD-302 (Rev.4-15-64) FEDERAL BUREAU Of iNVeSTIgATION Date _May 13, 1966 1 At approximately 1l:30 P.M., May 5, 1966, SAs and were at the Apollo. Lounge in East St. Louis, Illinois, and observed. in this tavern. was believed wanted by the. East St. Louis Police. SA telephonically contacted and inquired if was wanted by that. Department. stated he would have to make a check and find out.. was advised by SA that as at the Apollo Lounge. After leaving the Apollo, the above Agents went to the Paddock Lounge in East St. Louis located at Fifth and St. Louis Avenue, arriving there at approximately 12:l5 to 12:30 A.M., May 6, 1966._ On entering the Paddock Lounge, Agents observed seated in a booth at the tavern, part of the lounge. was observed in conversation with Shortly after Agents arrived at the Paddock Lounge, a telephone rang and the bartender called to the telephone. After taking the call, approached the booth where Agents were seated. at. this point stated the call was from It the Police Department inquiring if was wanted by that. Department. said he did not know of any wanted concerning Others observed in the Paddock Lounge were and one or two 'customers and the. bartender.
