March .1l, 1960 MEETING BETWEEN MORRIS CHILDS, EUGENE DENNIS, AND GUS.HALL IN NEW YORK, CITY ON LARCH 1, 1960 On Friday, March ll, lg60, therewas & meeting in New York City between uonris ChrlDs, Secretary of tho Foreign Aifairs and Poace Commission.ofthe CommunistParty - USA CpusA);.GUs HALL, Executive Secrotary of tho CpUSA; and EUGENE DENNIS, Chairman of the CpusA. This meeting was held in Room #9oo of. the Sheraton- Atlantic Hotel in New York City. The room had beon rented by JACK CHILDs, using tho namo of JACk BRooks. Tho. mceting started shortly aitor ncon and iasted until about 6:00P.M. RuGENE DENNIs felt that sinco this hotel room was located on a.floor where a toy con- vention was in progross, it offored good security. However, he. still insisted thnt the major portion of the mooting be conducted in writing and that the notes be immediately destroyed because of tho subject mntter undor discussion.: Agenda This meeting was hold primarily to acquaint Gus HALL with the relationship of tho CpusA with.other Communist Parties, particularly in rogard to.the recoipt.of funds. Most of the brief- ingin regard to funds.was done by ChilDs, who was following the instructions of DENNis in rogard to the amounts mentioned. The agenda for the meeting was as folloys: I. Roport on tho Goneral Status of Finances of the CPUSA. II. Functioning of. tho Foreign Affairs and Peace Com-. mission of tho CpusA. III. Hiscellancous Items of Information. from ChirDS. I. REPORT ON THE GENERAL STATUS OF FINANCES OF THE CPUSA Remarks of MORRIs CHILDS CHilos indicated in writing that the prospects are that the CpusA will get $200,000 in 1960.~ He also indicated that this
