Mr. Ladd entered on duty in the Federal Bureau
of Investigation on November 5, 1928, as a Special~Agent in
Grade CAr 8 with salary at the'rate of $29oo per annum and.
following a period of training he performed investigative
duties in varions offices of this Bureau and served in
various executive positions. Mr. Ladd retired effective
at the close of business February 28, 195+, at which time.
he was occupying the position of Assistant'to the Director,
Grade GS 18, $14,8oo per annum. His services were satisfactory
and nothing'of a derogatory nature was known concerning his.
character or integrity during the period in which he was an
employee of this Bureau.
Admission To The Bar.
He was admitted to practice law in the District of
Columbia on 0ctober 13, 1928.
II.
RESULTS OF INVESTIGATIONS
Interviews.
Associates, social acquaintances, neighbors,
supervisors, and others interviewed during'the i928 investi-.
gation concerning Daniel Milton Ladd highiy recommended him
with respect to character, Ioyalty, industry, ambition,
associates, general standing and ability.
Mr. Styles Bridges, United States Senator from
New Hampshire, advised on January 27, 1956, that he has known
Mr. Ladd for many years and considers him an outstanding man
of excellent character, reputation, and loyalty to this country.
He added that he would'not hesitate to recommend Mr. Ladd
most highly for any position of trust and confidence.
Mr. William Langer, United States Senator from
North Dakota, informed on January 30, 1956, that he has known
Mr. Ladd and'his family all his life. He stated that Mr. Ladd
comes from one of the most outstanding families in North Dakota
and he would rate Mr. Ladd as an individual of excellent
character, loyalty, associates, and reputation. He emphasized
that he would recommend him for any position of trust and
confidence without any hesitation whatsoever.
