I believe the murderer micht be using a decompression chamber
not unlike tne ones usea oy nimane societies to destroy homeless
eniralse I admit this at first migét scund like a strange isea,
but consider the available evidence:
1) All the victims died by asphyxiation, but few or none
of the bodies showed auy sign of a struggle, and none had been
strangled,
2) All of the victims were either children or very slightly-
built adults.
3) All the victims were wnat we would consider to be rather
naive individuals, either due to their youth or to their mental
slowness or retardation, In addition, being poor, each would
probably tend to jump at the chance of making quick money.
The murderer probably at one time was able to either buy
or steal a large-sized decompression chamber from a dog pound or
humane society. These large-sized units are made to be able to
hold large breeds of dogs, like German Shepards or St. Bernards,
so one would be of sufficient size to hold a child or small aduit,
but probably not a normal adult. It would be a simple matter to
alter the appearance of the machine, by painting it or obscurring
parts of {t, so as to make it look like, say, a washing machine
or a cement mixer to untrained eyes. The murderer might meet the
child at a street corner, ask if he wants to make twenty dollars
for five minutes work, and thus induce him to get in the car with
him. He would explain, for example, that he accidently dropped his
wedding band in his washing machine, and now can't get it out
Because he is to big to reach inside. All the child would have tc
do to earn the money is crawl inside and pick up the ring. Since
the child willingly enters the riachine, no struggle takes place.
As soon as the victim ig inside, it is a simple watter to slam the
door behind him and start the mackine. /I have read that these
