“Mr. IRALA stated that the special emphasis placed by the Basques
relative to Communism does not preclude the Basque representatives in Latin
Averica from assisting the Buresu's representatives on eny other type of
subversive activity wherever possible. He stated by way of illustration that
in most of the Latin American countries where there are Spanish ministers,
there are Basques 1 ean obtain information from the offices of these
Bpenish ministers.
. Mr. IRALA turned over to Jerome Doyle a list of the Basque repre-
= sentatives in the various Latin American countries. This list is being held
in the Kew York SIS office pending the decision of the Bureau with respect -
to working with the Basques in Zatin America. If the Bureau decides to
enter into close cooperation with the Basques, Mr. IRALA will furnish Mr, Doyle
with background information relative to each of these representatives.
