i Irala pointed out that it would be necessary for the Legal Attaches to advise the Basques as to informtion desired and to generally supervise their operations. At the present time the Basques are intensely interested in com- bating Communism, and steps have already been taken to infiltrate the various Commnist organisations throughout Latin America. The Basques are making a particular study of Mexico, inasmuch as they consider Mexico as the headquarters : for the Commmist movement in latin America, He stated that although emphasis was being placed on Commnism by the Basques, this does se their men é from doing any type of work desired by the legal Attaches. = Trala also stated that the Basque delegates in New York would not. de- sire reporta on the work of the Basque agents, but would appreciate being ad- vised occasionally in a general way as to the efficiency of the organization and as to the ts obtained.
