President ACUIRRE and Mr. IRALA _ have been advised by Mr. Doyle that the Basque representatives will be made ~ to understand that any money paid to the Basques by the Legal Attaches oe “ emanates from President AGUIRRE. It is suggested to the Bureau that in its letter outlining the proposed close liaison between the Basques and the Bureau representatives that for the guidance of the Lega) Attaches, they be — advised as to the amount of money remitted by President AGUIRRE monthly to these various representatives. Mr. IRALA stated that on many oocesions, the Basques do not spend the money sent them and as a consequence, return it to President AGUIRRE in New York City. oe - : : Presently the money paid by President AGUIRRE to the Basques is as follows: Santo Domingo - $75 per month; Chile - $400 pet month; Peru - $100 ~ { y month; Cuba - $260 per month; Venezuela = per month; Colombia = : 150 per month; Mexico - $750 per month; Argei (Uruguay) - #2000; Peraguay, Bolivia - $0; Chile - $400 per month. Mr. Doyle has advised the Basques that a minimm of administrative wail concerning Basque matters will be transmitted to and from Latin America by the Bureau. In addition, reports on Commmism will be transmitted to ' President AGUIRRE through au provided @ copy of such reports ere made available to the Bureau. Very truly yours, Enclosures 6 ainems 1S7
