SA 100-3171 Upon being interviewed, Subject stated that he was a Spanish citizen, having been born in Bilbao, Spain, on May &, 1909, and that he was employed as becretary to President JOSE ANTONIO AGUIRRE of the Basque Delegation, - 30 Fifth Avene, New York City. Subject stated that he had resided in “france from 1907 to 1938, at which time he came to the United States where, he remained until 1939. According to the Subject, he returned to France in 1939 where he resided in Paris until June, 1940, when, because of the German invasion, he moved to Vichy and Marseilles. Subject advised that during all this period he was employed by AGUIRRE as secretary. a four months tour of all Latin American countries on officiel business in his capacity as AGUIRRE's secretary. He stated that in Mexico City he had stopped at Regina 40A, and also at the Hotel Majestic. He advised that he expected to remain in the United States for a period of four months. ———_. He was traveling on Mexican Passport J=99, which was issued in Mexico, D.F, : on November 18, 1943.
