. friend of 2EaT BK * had recently arrived from Kew York City and cas staying =e) ws La 190-28112 oo ° wee #aTL. fom A recent mail cover placed of the residence of BNI DRUCHT reflected thet UkZCHT received an insured packuge postmarked August 3, 1544, sent by RUTH BEXLAU, 124 Bast 57th Street, liew York City. This cover also reflected that BHU received two letters from 34 Pryor Lane, Larchnont, ie. York. Tne post- marks on these letters were unknowm, but one of them mus received by 3XiCHT on hugust 4 and the other is known to have been an air wail special delivery letter. Om August 12 and July 28, 1944, this informant advised that a "girl of course, is presently \ aarried and living with his wife and two children. Informant later ascertained that this girl friend had moved from LO:RE's to an unknown address near Wilshire Boulevard. He stated that he had heard that WRECHT and his friends had encaged in politioal discussions at the LOKKE residence while this girl friend ws located there. Informant felt that these discussions might also be continued at the girl's new address. The identity of this girl friend is unknom, and it might be noted that the mail cover mentioned above reflects that UTH SERKLAT was in NewYork as late as august 3, 1944. This would seen to elininste her as being the girl friend referred to. II Om vay 18 and 20, the nane of BUNT BHECFT was placed on both the = national and local censorship watch lists for a veriod of ninety days. It mipht be noted that BRECT's nane had previously been placed on the national censorship watch list on January 19, 1944. By letter of July 18 a sixty-day mail cover was placed or the resi-~ denoe of GEXT BRECUT. It might be noted that previously prosecution of BAZCHT for infractions of the alien enemy travel regulations was declined by the United States .ttorney at Los angeles. Furtheniore, on July 26 the United States »ttorney's office at Los -ngeles advised that a Presidential warrant for subject's apprehension as an alien enemy would not be authorized as of that date. It was suggested, however, that periodic checks of subject's activities be mde.
