With reference to the telex received from Me Coy of Delta Airlines, Atlanta
on the 5th, January, 1979, enquiries were immediately commenced,
The Anbassador Mr Shallouf, travelled Rome to London, cn British Airways *
: Service RA 503, on the tst January, the flight arriving in Lon-ton, at.15.0C,
: No V.J.P.Suite had been urranged to accomodate thé ambassador, and I am
assured by the Duty Officer of the Libian Embassy, Loncon, Tcl No 930-3851,
that the ambassador, was transported, with his bagrace by Enbassy Car to
Gatwici: Airport, to make his connection, with the Delta Airlines Plight
DL ii, the sane day. .
I have been in touch with Aritish Caledonian Airlincs at Gatwick, who are
the "Wandling Agents for Delta Airlines (UX) who confirm that the ambassador
travelled onthe DL.11,. flight on the second of January. .
Bagease Facilities Section, of British Caledonian Airlines, have been contactec
and I am inforned that twelve peices of baggasc, were left behind, at Gatwick:
when the Dfi"flight denarteds, due to insufficient space being available, he
was unable to confirm that the two peices, Which were, missing, were included
. with these bags, but he assures me that the 12 peices were Shipped; on the”
- Delta Airlines Flight, on tne 9th January, and that at the moment he is not
in possesion of any barrage, destined for atlanta. :
