A copy is attached. . : Although Bishop Sheen did not mention the FBI or the Director in his remarks, it is felt that in view of Bishop Sheen's friendliness and close coope- ration with the Director and the FBI, that the Director might desire to send the jattachea letter to Bishop Sheen congratulating him upon receipt of the Legion's Distinguished Service Medal. Congratulations are somewhat belated, however, the transcript was available Friday, 9-27-57, for the first time, and the Director's letter is based upon reading of the transcript.
