A. SOURCES OF INCOME
During September, 1971, the group ordered or received
an estimated 10,000 copies of the BPP Newspaper which were
delivered via air freight in the name RUSSELL McDONALD,
Distribution Manager. RUSSELL MCDONALD, however, was engaged
in activities at Ayden, N. C., for most of this period and the
né€wspapers were handled by a young new member, DARRELL HOPKINS.

Operate On a cash basis. LARRY DONNELL LITTLE has been
contacting black colleges in the area attempting to arrange
speaking engagements for BPP Chairman BOBBY SEALE, in an effort
to raise-‘funds for the BPP, The student body government at
Winston-Salem State College, a predominantly Negro school, has
expressed a willingness to have SEALE appear; however, no
agreement has been reached to date and LITTLE has apparently
been unsuccessful in getting a commitment from SEALE to speak
in North Carolina. The BPP Chapter at Winston-Salem, N. C.,
has approached white merchants doing business in the black
neighborhoods to donate money for the Free Breakfast for Childrén
Program. They have been unsuccessful in obtaining any regular
cash donations. However, several of the merchants, including
the Merita Bakery which is located in a black neighborhood,
have donated food. Sources report that the BPP members themselves
have been eating the food leaving very little for the children.
Accordingly, approximately eight children are currently being
fed under this program.
