Re Charlotte airtel to Bureau dated 9/21/71.
During September, 1971, the Black Panther Party (BPP)
Chapter at Winston-Salem, N. C., operated principally from
their new headquarters at 1333 North Patterson Avenue. An
apartment, located at 1306-A Underwood Ave., the residence of
RUSSELL and MARY McDONALD, is also utilized by BPP leaders.
RUSSELL MCDONALD is the Distributor of the BPP newspaper in
North Carolina and his wife, MARY McDONALD, works at BPP
headquarters, 1333 North Patterson Ave., where she handles th
Free Breakfast for Children Program. The BPP was able to hav
a telephone installed at the Patterson Avenue address, however,
the telephone company refused to hook up the telephone when
BPP members failed to make the required deposit with the
telephone company. LARRY DONNELL LITTLE, head of the BPP
chapter, continues to receive telephone calls at 1306-A
Underwood Ave. and at the residence of his mother, OCHIE BELL
LITTLE, 1326 Oak St., Winston-Salem, N. C.
