Dear Sir:
I am in receint of your letter, addressed to Special agent
O. C. Dewey of tiis Division, at Des Moines, Iowa, pertaining to
your .44 calibre Smith and Wesson revolver seized by the Barrow
brothers several months ago.
where is in this office a group of pistols which were
recovered from the Barrows at Dexter, Iow, a few weeks ago and.upon
examination I find a .44 calibre Smith and Wesson, Serial #7457,
bearing the initial W on the left hand side of the handle gripe
This is apparently your gun. The same is being sent c.o.d. express
to yous.
In the event that this be not your property, it is expected
that you return same since it would probably be claimede However,
it bears all of the earmarks mentioned in your letters
