lhe Clyde Barrow came to the cabin where I was and told me that Jack ond my husband had had an accident and for me to pack up that we had to leaves We returned then as 1 now remember to Oklahoma and it was two or three days after leaving Arkansas that I read ino paper, celled the "Daily Oklahoma" that our gang was accused of having shot an officer at a little town culled Alma near Van Buren. My husband was accused by tho officers of having killed this officer, although when I showed him the paper he told me he did not know which one of them bad actually killed the officer, he or Jack Sherman, as they both ghot several time in this fight. it was sometime after the Yan Buren shooting and while we were in Oklahoma that I first saw the some thirty additional guns. They wore all, outside of one or two, 45 Colt'’s Automatics. It was about this time that Glyde sawed the barrel and stock off of one of the Brownie Automatics which was shown to me by the officers on the day 1 signed this statements Today I was show thirty-eight 45 Colt's Automatics, one 44 H & W, four Brownie Automatics ani a canvas beg kit which were the guns that we bad beon carrying with us for about « month and were the ones that we had when we were at the filling station near Platte City and later were taken fmm us when apprehended by the officers at or near Dexter, Iowie We then treveled into Missouri, Kansas and as far north ae Iowa. I am not certain, but I think we stole at least one car while in Iowa, although I am not certain about this, dut I will say that at ell times when cars were taken they were generally V8 Fords, Sedans and Coachese This type of car was used because they were so fest and quick to start. How long we stayed in lowe I do not knowe After going into Iowa we returned to Missouri and at about 10:30 o'clock om the night of the 16th of July this year, we passed a filling station on Highway 71, which I have later learned is about seven miles east of Plette City. After pass- ing this station we decided to turs around snd go back because we had seen come cottages behind a filling station. We drove into the filling station and I don't remember what two down, but I wes in the front seat of the car and asked to rent the two cabins as there were two women and one mine Re generally always used this method in renting cottages to keep down suspicion that there were five of us. While we were at the cabins near Platte City, I did all the buying of the food at the filling station, directly in front o: and I was in the filling station soverel times buying food on the day of the 19th of July.
