which you Inquire about the role of the FBI in civil rights matters

Our investigations of bombing cases are based on mz Ss
the jurisdiction given us under the provisions of the Civil Rights a

The FBI also aids local law enforcement by appre-
hending felons who have fled interstate to avold prosecution,
custody or confinement. We enter these cases under the Fugitive
Felon Act at the request of local authorities who have legal process
for the arrest of the fugitive. There must be an {ndication that the
fugitive has fled the state where he is charged with the felony and
the United States Attorney must authorize a Federal warrant,
