Servs, \ 2 ew Jersey March 4, 1980 Dear Director Webster; I have written numerous Congressmen and Senators to tell them I believe the FBI should have carte-blanche to track down and prosecute corruption in every area. The spectacle of the highest elected body in government defending the bribe takers while condemning the act of bribe-giving as "entrapment" was most distressing. Is this ‘the new "moral code" of Congress? I believe the government employee has a sacred trust to perform in a manner which will reflect credit upon this ‘country -- not shame. And these recent revelations . (including Abscam) are the shame of the nation. Still, . they must be exposed. ;And then we must instill the fear of exposure by adequate ' punishment.
