Abreham Zwillaan Confidential informants, who heave furnished reliable information in the past, have advised that Zvillaen hes on past occasions, dates not specified, visited the Robert Treat Hotel, Newark, New Jersey, in company with City Commissioner Meyer Ellenstein and ether well-kmom political figures, namely, Colonel Williem Kelly, Chairman of the Essex County Democratic Committee; and John Nanning, United States Collector of Interna] Revenue, Eewark, Now Jerssy. A confidentiel {nformant, who has furnished reliable information in the past, advised that Zwillman gare a substential contribution to the campaign fund of ohn V. Kenney, Democratic Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey, prior to his election. The "Newark Wows" of March 16, 1950, reported « comment of First Assiatant United States Attorney Tyne in connection with the indictment of James “Niggy” Rutkin for income tax evesion. According to Tyne, Joseph H. Reinfeld in 193 in Newark, made a settlement with respect to moneys received from the sale of Browne-Vinter Company, Incorporated, by Reinfeld. Reportedly $358,000 went to Zwillman and Joseph Stacher while Rutkin received $250,000. Reinfeld stated that at the same time he paid Ratkin $250,000 he also paid $358,000 to Zwillman and expleined that this money to Zwillwan was in payment of a loan end profits owed to Zwillmen fros the Browne-Vintuers, Incorporated, sale. Reinfeld admitted that Moe, Phil end Dave Silverman, relatives of his sister-in-law,were front stockholders for Zwillwan and Joe Stacher.
