C., om August 15, 1951, Joseph G. Bogrso of Paterson, Kew Jorsey, identified himself an a | clothing manufecturer and a free lance political worker for any candidate and steted he hed known Zwillaan for fifteen yeers and had solicited Zwillman's political aid only om one occasion during the 19),6 campaign when Boxzo worked et trying to get support for Marold Hoffman, Republican gubernatorial , candidate in the primaries. It was later developed that Bozzo had contributed $25,000 in eash to the Republican Party in 1949. Maerold Soffman, Governor of New Jersey froa 1935 te 1937, advised the Senate Crime Investigating Committees that he had asked Zwillman for help in the i9he eampaign. Koffran stated that he had met Ewillman efter his tera of Governor and added that Zwillman had never wade any improper requests ef hin. During the 1951 Senate Crime Investigating Committee hesrings, other individuals with whom Zwillsan was alleged to be friendly were Willian Egan, former Essex County Democratic Chairmen, Meyer Ellenstein, City Commissioner, City of Newark, Harold Krieger, Corporation Counsel, Jersey City, Rew Jersey, John VY. Kenny, former Mayor of Jersey City, end Ralph Vilieni, former Mayor of Newark. - -~1l2-
