Reference is made to a letter from the Bureau to Los Angeles
Office dated July 24, 1946, entitled TAaPGA", wherein the Bureau requested
information concerning the ownership of the Del Mar Race Track at Del
Mar, California.
The informant states that
he has definitely made up his mind that BENJAMIN "BUGS" SIEGEL has no
interest in the track, it ie the
intention of the new management to police the track closely, throwing
out every character, tout and bookmaker that makes his appearance at the
track, is of the opinion that any scandal attached to the operation
of the track will reflect upon the new management as well as on all
tracks throuzhout the tnited States.
