Washington, D. g. ’ October 16, 19 SORANDUM FOR THE DIRECTOR . 967171930 gn Yn the afternoon of the 15th instant, a S 3 telegram was received by the writer from Special (,2- 2 Yl Assistant to the Attorney General Oseas at Chicago, requesting that contact be made with the offic of Mr. Teague,member of the Farm Board for the purpose of ascertaining the correct name and address of one Mr. Taggart, mentioned in a letter addressed Mr. Teague by Mr. Eustace, which letter hed been for- werded to the Bureau som days ago by Mr. Teacue. I communicated with Mr. Teacue’s office end ascertained that he was out of town wt leerned through his Secretary that he probably hed no personal knowledge of the address of Mr. Taggart. His Secre- tary, however, agreed to telegraph Mr. Fustace in Calif. and to advise this office promptly upon receipt of a reply. In the meantime, a telegram wes forwarded to the Chicago office, advising that Taggart's initials were V. C. and that efforts were being made to learn his address. Tuis morning Mr. Tearue's office called by telephone en stated that a reply had been received from Mr. Eustace, stting that Mr. Taggart's correct neme was V. C art and thet he was employed by the Fry Broker&ge Company on Racine Avenue, 14th Place, Chicago in the south water market neighborhood.
