C. o RE: AL CAPONE Dear Sir:— Reference is made to the telephonic request of Assist Director E. A. TAMM of October 25, 1939, relative to the fact thay the wife of AL CAPONE had divorced him or was attempting « divorce. Special Agent D. W. Magee of this Office interviewed CAPONE, alone, at Terminal Island for a period of one hour, late in the afternoon, October 25, 1939. CAPONE was approached on two angles during this interrogation. One approach concerned the early history of the Chicago Motion Picture Operators Union, particularly TOMIE‘HALLOY (deceased), GEORGE E.XBROMN, WILLIE ~JBIOFF, with aliases, JOHN (BIG NICK)ANICK, and NICK (NICKELODEON) _»SIRCELLA, who were also connected with the'Wotion Picture Operators Union years ago. The second approach concerning his knowledge of the escape of RALPH MOS and THEODORE COLE from Alcatraz. AL CAPONE seemed in high spirits during the course of the interview, and stated he knew NICK (NICKELODEON) CIRCELLA wel thet he remembered GEORGE E. BROWN, but not “ BIOFF, with aligses. He digressed into statements concerning TORRIO; how he had censored - TORRIO for being interested in the prostitution racket in Chicago.
