Tt was reported in June, 1957, that & meeting
of top hoodlums from the United States was held with
‘rucky" Luciano and Joe Adonis in Itely in May, 19573
that this meeting had been for the purpose of deciding
the fate of Frank Scalise, New York hoodlum, who was later
murdered in the Bronx, New York, in June, 1957. It was
further reported that Albert Anastasia, who controlled the
construction industry and related unions in New York, was
an associate of Frank Scalise and was the individual who
wanted Scalise disposed of. It was further alleged that
Scalise probably defied the Anastasia group oF failed to
contribute @ proper share of his proceeds to them. \y

In September, 1956, it was reported that Albert
Anastasia owned fifty per cent of the Madison, ess Company,
Hazleton, Pennsylvania,
and that Anastasia jad had an eres t rm since

In July, 1957, it was alleged, but not substantiated,
that Albert Anastasia held an interest in the Nuremberg Dress
Company» Nuremberg, Pennsylvania.
Albert Anastasia wes shot to death on october 25,
1957, by masked gunmen who fired point-blank at him as he
sat in a barber chair in the Hotel Park Sheraton at Seventh
Avenve and 55th Street, Wew York City.
