§ Bridgeport, Connecticut June 22, 1951 1, Woe, make the following statement to Geen who has identified himself to me as a Special Agent of the Federsl Bureau of Investigation. I make this statement freely. I have received no threats or promises. I em aware that this statement may be used in a court of law. The statement that I am now maxing amplifies tha the signed statement that I orig- dnally made toigpweeon June 13,1951. , . I recall that at the time that GUY BUKG:SS picked me up at Fredericksburg, Wa. he told me that he had been stopped enroute by the Virginia State Police at 6@ weigh- Ang station a short distance from the District of Columbia Line because of his driv- Ang. He indicated that he was released at this time with a warning. He was issued the warning rather than being arrested because his Diplomatic immnity. While I was riding with BURGESS he was again Foe ong the Virginia State Police between Fredericksburg Va. and Richmond, Va because of the reckless character ae ing. ,At_this time there was some discussion between office: . . . /at which tine Burgess contended that he could not be arrested because of his dip- lomstic status. The State Police Officer advised Burgess that while this probably was true that Burges$ could be denied the right to drive his car in Virginie and his ear could be held pending the arrival of another driver. Burgess was again released with a warning.
