At the beginning of October the Minister for Land Settlement announced his Min-
istry's plans for the next five years under this scheve. By the middle of 1963 sere
209,000 ecres will have been purchased for settlement. All of the 1,000,009 acres
will be given over to high-density farming schemes’ involving the sub-division of
plots into aa average of 16 acres each, Ie is accepted that this will result ina
set-back to the econemy, but the case of the landless and their consequent threat to
