In the sun mer of 1964, Guerrero was one of a handful of native white Southerners who par- ticipated in the Mississippi Summer Project. Guerrero has been working with SSOC (Southern Student Organizing Committee) since then to encourage white peo- ple to join in the movement for social change in the South. For the past year he has worked with the trade union movement in North Carolina.
