The following references in the file captioned "November 8
Mobilization Committee" disclosed that Mrs. Martin Luther King of the SCLC
was a member of the Steering Committee of this group. The November 8
Committee was set up during a meeting of peace groups in Cleveland, on
September 10-11, 1966 for the purpose of organizing demonstrations
throughout the US to be held on November 5-8, 1966 as a protest against
the war in Vietnam. This group was later known as the “Spring Mobili-
' gation Committee to End the War in Vietnam" and was to sponsor anti-
Vietnam demonstrations during April 8-15, 1967. King was listed as a
national sponsor for the Spring Committee. No activity on the part of
King was set out.
