advised that in April, 1967 during a meeting at
San Francisco, of the Steering Committee of the Spring Mobilization
Committee to End the War in Vietnam (SMC) (62-111181), mention was
made that Mrs. Martin Luther King would be presented as one of the
final speakers on 4/15/67 for the purpose of keeping the crowd in
the stadium as long as possible. te
The 4/16/67 issue of the "San Francisco Examiner" disclosed that
King spoke near the end of a rally sponsored by the SMC on 4/15/67 at
Kezar Stadium, San Francisco. When she spoke the crowd had dwindled
and péopie were leaving throughout her speech.

. On 5/17/67 Bureau Agents observed a program begin at the
Lincoin Temple, llth and R. Streets, N. W., Washington, D. C., that was
sponsored by the Spring Mobilization Committee to End the War in Viet-
nam. Sidney Peck, a member of the Mobilization Committee, introduced ..
members, including Mrs. Martin Luther King, of a delegation who were to
attempt to see the President on this date and to present to him the
expressions of people who oppose the President's policies in Vietnam.
