One of them, Guilerno Torrie, is a nephew of a New York big time hoodlum name Johnny Torrie. At this point, Ness's suspicions that the management of Brawley Mills is in league with the hoodlum element are borneout. The _ Brawley Company, operated by E. Carlton Duncan, President, and Brooks Wells, Sales Manager, are pressured into turning over more "tribute" to the local a . hoods.
