DEMONSTRATIONS PROTESTING APPEARANCE
OF VICE-PRESIDENT HUBERT H. HUMPHREY,
CLEVELAND, OHIO, JULY 1-2, 1968
On June 27, 1968, CV T-1 advised that TED DOSTAL
would lead the Cleveland chapter of Youth Against War and
Fascism {vawr ) in a demonstration at the Cleveland City
Hall at 6:30 PM on July 1, 1968. The Source stated that.
this demonstration would be for the purpose of protesting
the Cleveland appearance of Vice-President HUBERT H. HUMPHREY
because of the latter's adherence to and support of the
United States policy with respect to Vietnam.
On September 4, 1966, CV T-2 identified
TED DOSTAL as a member of the National Committee of
the Workers World Party (WWP).
Charecterizations of both the WWP and the
YAWF are contained in the Appendix section of this
memorandum.
On June 28, 1968, CV T-3 advised that members of
the Cleveland chapters of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP)
and Young Socialist Alliance (YSA) would also participate in
the demonstration against Vice-President HUMPHREY on July l,
1968.
The SWP has been designated by the
Attorney General of the United States pursuant
to Executive Order 10450.
