@ * -4- in 1967. In running grand jury investigations and- prosecutions of both tax and civil rights violations, he won special commendations. -« Jesse H. Queen, a senior trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division's Criminal Section, Mr. Queen, 46, a native of Kansas City, Kansas, first joined the Justice Department as a trial attorney in the Civil Division in May of 1962 and transferred to the Civil Rights Division in April of 1965. As chief of litigation for the state of Louisiana prior to the division's recent re-organization, Mr. Queen appeared in court for the United States in all civil rights cases in the area during a three-year period. -- Milton C, Branch, Assistant U. S. Attorney for | cotorade. Mr. Branch, 49, a native of Chicago, joinea the U.S. Attorney's office in 1963 and has been involved in a large number of grand jury investigations and prosecutions. In 1965 Mr. Branch investigated a number of Mississippi civil rights violations for the Department, Earlier this year, he temporarily joined the staff of the U. S.
