additional handwriting specimens since Laboratory has indicated
there is some similarity between handwriting and/or printing on
envelopes received in this matter with that of the handwriting of
Perry. FBI Laboratory will be requested to compare material

releasing cassette of 2/20/7.. Mr. Hearst stated absolutely

Mr. Hearst continues to solicit. advice offSAC, {SFO and
has indicated no decision will be made without prior consultation.

. SFO advised in excess of 100 Agents being utilized in
of this case on practically full-time basis. Remaining Agent
ne complement of SFO handling leads and other phases of investigative
inquiry. Five Agents, including two Supervisors, assigned full~-
time basis during regular work day coordinating investigative
efforts of Agent personnel and reviewing voluminous data gathered
by SFO and other field offices on practically field-wide basis.
This matter continues to be handled as a special under personal
supervision of SAC. SFO advised 2/21/74, it appears that if this
matter continues at present pace, SFO will require additional man-
power to enable it to handle other investigative matters not
connected with Hearnap. SFO indicated that another facet of this
jinvestigation is Bureau's intelligence-type investigation of SLA
« 3 and every effort being made to afford this phase of the investiga-
