Prior to any jogging, BENENSON locked his... clothing and valuables in the trunk of his car. ‘He me, also locked all his keys in the trunk with the ex-. ception of one key that opened all car locks which he placed in his glasses case and carried with him while jogging. The single key in his glasses case was wrapped in a piece of paper. BENENSON stated he normally carried that key in his glasses case as a Spare. | 7-855 wsSfe BENENSON estimated that, on the evening in question, he jogged in the woods at the above location for approximately 45 minutes. While jogging, he was - dressed only in a tee shirt, shorts, sneakers and socks. When he finished working out he obtained a sweat shirt, Sweat pants and an Army-type jacket from the trunk of his car and put these clothes on prior to leaving the “area. We recalled carrying his wallet in his lower — jeft jacket pocket. Except for the above clothing, his keys and probably his wallet, he left his other clothing and valuables in a plastic bag in the trunk or the car. He was not quite certain whether he removed his wallet from the trunk upon leaving the above location or whether he removed it when he vacuumed his ear out several minutes thereafter. BENENSON recalled that it was dark enough to put nis car headlights on when he left the location where he had worked out. He traveled the same route back to licarst Street which he had taken up the hill to the jogging area. Upon reaching Hearst Street he proceeded west to Oxford Street, and then south to the intersection of Kittridge and Oxford Streets to a Texaco car wash facility: on the southwest corner. He drove to the vacuuming area of the car wash not stopping at the gas pumps or the car wash area. He estimated that the trip from the jogging site took approximately ten minutes. Once at the car wash facility BENENSON vacuumed the inside passenger compartment of his car as well as the trunk compartment. BENENSON re-> .
