EMILY HARRIS asked SUTTER where the car's flasher switch was located, Before he could reply he heard her turn the headlights on. .SUPPER stated he was aware of this because his Lincoln had conccaled headlights and he could hear the motor that retracts the cover and exposes the headlights. The group remained at this location for about fifteen minutes and then, without any explanation, the lights were turned off and they departed, SUTTER advised that Guring, this stop he heard traffic noises, indicating nearness to a main road, During this general period (SUTTER could not remember if it wes before or after the hilltop stop), WILLIAM HARRIS took SUTTER's wellet. He removed $250 in cash and told SUTTER he could consider it a type of loan, SUITER did not observe WILLIAM HARRIS when he had his wallet, but a later examination of it revealed that only SUITER's money was missing. The next thing that SUTTER could remember occurring, probably about 10:30 a.m., was when EMILY HARRIS agein exited the car with the apparent intention of meking a telephone call, SUITER could not exolein why he thought EMILY HARRIS was calling, but remembered that when she returned she said something to the effect, “It was sure good to talk to them, They were glad to hear from we as we heve not talked for several days", SUTTER advised that EMILY HARRIS got out of the car about six times during the morning anc most, if not all of these departures, were believed to relate to telephone calls. After the 10:30 a.m., telephone call, WILLIAM HARRIS told SUTTER that thirss were getting flaky. He sald it would take longer to work things out than expected, WILLIAM HARRIS also told SUTTER he realized he was uncomfortable, but said ‘sometines pcople have to meke sacrifices, WILLIAM HARRIS claimed he personally had spent many hours Lying on the floor of a car. He further advised he had just spent a painful night with a handcuff on one hand and finally had to obtain a hacksaw ano cut it off, i Approximetely 11:00 a.m,, after the car was again’ driven a considerable distance (direction and route unknown), - thby stopped at a deadend street, possibly a cul-de-sac, From --360--
