ADIC SULLIVAN was in charge of the FBI operation and conferred with the ether law enforcenent acencies and coordixated the overall operation. Both FBI end LAPD SWAT Teams were at the 62nd and Vermont commund post and conferred jointly as to how the operation should be carricd out. At 6:30 a.m,, both ends of 84th Street betueen Vermont and Figueroa were sealed off, as were surrounding streets. . At 6:20 a.m., it was not known where the SLA fugitives were located since the only indication of their location was the Nay 713, 1974, LAPD parking ticket which indicated the 1970 Volkswacen van had been parked in front of 835 West S4th Street. The essembied officers agreed that the fugitives could be anyvhere in the general neighborhood. Reports from Agents and officers working in the jmucdiate arca of B35 West B4th Street indicated that residents of the neighbovhood had observed new Caucusiap occupants at 844 West @4th Street who appearcd to o Volksvagen van. Bae further advised that he had observed the above-mentioned females in the possession of three vans which had been regulerly parked in the area of 833 West G4th Strect. He stated that on one occasion a few days prior to May 16, 1974, he had observed one of these vans receiving a parking ticket on the strect in the vicinity of 833 West 84th Street.
