a) h) t- Memorandum Bates Deevnarat @ Re: HEARNAP; * our LA Office is presently rechecking logical auto or veh#eie rental agencies during the pertinent period in an efigft to certain if the fugitives obtained rental transportation.@ This is fing done inasmuch as a review of the subjects' activiti pridg to their disappearance revealed they could likely have obtainéa a rental vehicle, as they utilized four rental cars = the 4/15/74 bank robbery. ' Our LA Office is attempting to develop a target from KPFK personnel and/or individuals who have appeared on that radio broad- casting program. This is being done inasmuch as the last tape pre- pared by the fugitives was furnished to this radio station and no cooperation has been received from this station's staff. CONCLUSION It is firmly believed that the concept of a conference such as this one is indeed worthwhile. Alli of the participants were well prepared, the discussions were open, candid, and the enthusiasm which marked these efforts noteworthy. At a very minimum, the conference afforded an opportunity for the participants to undertake a detailed review of the activities in this case uninterrupted. Hopefully one of the investigative avenues developed from this conference will result in the location and apprehension of the fugitives, Comments were expressed by parti- cipants from the LA and SF Offices that the conference will give impetus to this most important case. ‘ aan UN RK, Se a Ee ee hatte SE
